Paul
André
Blom
grew
up
with
a
love
of
movies
and
music.
This
led
to
him
developing
a
drive
to
not
only
absorb
as
much
of
it
as
possible,
but
also
to
create
it
himself. After graduating with a B.A. Degree from Stellenbosch University in the early '90s, Paul attended film school. From there he has been on the independent route ever since. From the late 1980s he's been: > involved with various bands and personal musical projects, incl. V.O.D / Terminatryx / F8 / K.O.B.U.S. / The Makabra Ensemble, and compiling the historic Kopskoot! album; > has been a bilingual entertainment journalist covering movies, music & gaming since 1997 - published in local magazines (incl. SL, Stage, Top Forty, Muse, LMG, Something Wicked, BPM) & syndicated newspapers and supplements (incl. The Star, The Argus, Die Burger, Son, JIP), to international publications (incl. Fangoria Magazine); > makes movies (incl. production / directing / editing); > created, designed & run several websites (Flamedrop.com / ShadowRealm Inc.); > been involved with collaborative photographic projects (Desert Storm / Beautiful People); > created & run several film festivals (South African HorrorFest / The X Fest / Sound On Screen / Celludroid / Daring Doccies / Cinemaniacs); > and created Flamedrop Productions in 2000 to encompass all of these and forthcoming activities. > In 2012 he created the Eruption column in Muse Magazine. Paul lives in Cape Town with his wife and collaborator Sonja Ruppersberg, their cat Ming and dog Zoltan. (scroll down for various links and music videos) |
